These cars are being recalled because it is believed that the chemicals that are inside the airbags can become unstable over time. This instability can cause the airbags to violently explode and spray sharp metal fragments at drivers and their passengers. So far, at least 15 people have died and more than 250 have been injured because of these dangerous airbags.
