On Behalf of | Feb 22, 2013 | Car Accidents |

A car collision can happen even when everyone involved is being careful. Bad weather, obstructed views or other events can create a situation in which two or more cars are involved in an accident. But far more common causes of motor vehicle accidents are various forms of negligence, such as distracted driving, drunk driving or otherwise failing to obey traffic directives.

Miami readers might be interested to know that other parts of the state have problems with car accidents as well. Police in Palm Coast are still investigating a recent two-car collision that sent drivers of both vehicles to the hospital.

According to authorities, the accident occurred on Feb. 5, when a 29-year-old man driving a Honda Accord was attempting to make a left turn and apparently failed to yield the right of way to a Ford Focus, which, as a result, T-boned the Honda. The man who was trying to turn left had to be extricated from his car. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital near Palm Coast. The 59-year-old woman driving the Ford Focus suffered minor injuries, and the man suffered more serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The accident investigation is ongoing.

In any injurious crash caused by a driver’s negligence, innocent victims have the right to pursue compensation for damages. These damages may include but are not limited to medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering.
