Yanal Harbi Yousef, Esq.
About
Yanal Yousef has practiced immigration law since 2008, beginning his legal career as an Honors Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice. At the DOJ’s Office of Immigration Litigation, Yanal represented the government in petitions for review before nearly every federal circuit court in the country. His work spanned a wide range of complex issues, including crimmigration, asylum, protection under the Convention Against Torture, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, nationality claims, constitutional challenges, and statutory and regulatory interpretation.
Through extensive legal research, persuasive writing, and oral advocacy in the federal courts of appeals, Yanal played a direct role in shaping immigration law through influential precedent decisions. Drawing on his experience litigating cases arising from immigration courts nationwide and the Board of Immigration Appeals, he brings deep insight into both administrative proceedings and appellate litigation—positioning clients for success at every stage.
Before joining the DOJ, Yanal worked at the Arlington Immigration Court as a student law clerk and served as a student attorney with the International Human Rights Clinic at American University’s Washington College of Law.
At KKTP, Yanal brings nearly two decades of federal immigration litigation experience to help clients achieve their immigration goals with clarity, strategy, and results-driven advocacy.
