New way to get status of applications could be available soon

There are many people in the Miami area who are from another country. Immigrants in Miami are from all over the world and most are here to create a better life for themselves and their family. Immigration can be a complex task for these people, but some of the process may be getting a little easier.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services is expanding a program to Miami that promises to speed up decisions regarding immigration issues. The Information Services Modernization Program is a phone line that allows immigrants the chance to check on their immigration cases and other important information by telephone. Up until this new system arrived, immigrants had to make appointments with USCIS staffers to update addresses, fix typographical errors on documents and get case status requests, along with other requests. Now, this new calling system is staffed by employees who have access to the immigrant’s information and can answer their questions without having them make an appointment. The USCIS believes this will free up their staff time to spend more time making decisions on applications and reducing the backload of immigration cases that are currently in the system.

Immigrants to the United States understand how complicated the citizenship process can be. It is important to have the right help with their visa applications, green card applications and also help with their family citizenship needs.

Those who come to the United States want to create a life for themselves and their family that is safe and successful. With new updates, the USCIS is helping immigrants get through the immigration application process quicker.
