Wrongful death leads to arrest in Florida

Being hit by a car can be life-changing. You may suffer from injuries that cause you serious pain and suffering. You could also lose a loved one if they are hit by a car, since they have little protection against the weight of the machine. In any case, if you find out that the driver was intoxicated and is responsible for your personal injury or a loved one's wrongful death, you may want to seek legal advice.

Your case could be similar to this one from Miami, Florida. According to the news from May 18, a man has been held on $100,000 bond for a DUI charge related to a deadly hit-and-run crash. The man, a 36-year-old, attempted to flee the scene, according to reports.

The police reported that the 36-year-old man tried to run from the scene of the accident after he hit a 29-year-old man who was driving a car and turning left onto Northwest 57th Avenue from 7th Street. The 29-year-old's car was broadsided by the 36-year-old man's SUV.

While the man tried to flee, it was reported that witnesses at the scene were able to help police track him down. When he was found, it was discovered that his blood alcohol content was .120, which is 1.5 times higher than the legal limit. The man allegedly smelled of alcohol.

The man reportedly told police that he was trying to find a phone to call his wife, because he believed he was innocent. Unfortunately for him, there was a camera at the scene that shows him running the red light, according to the prosecutor. He's now being held with charges of a DUI, DUI manslaughter and for leaving the scene of an accident where a death was involved.
