Car involved in 2 hit-and-run accidents found

Pedestrians and cyclists are more likely to sustain severe injuries in auto accidents because those individuals they have little or no protection against the force of vehicles. If victims or their family members wish to seek justice through a civil claim, they have the right to do so.

With these issues in mind, Florida residents may be interested to hear that information from a tipster led the Florida Highway Patrol to a car that matches the description of a Dodge Charger that is believed to have caused two collisions on Jan. 13, one of which claimed the life of a cyclist. Both collisions were hit-and-run accidents. As of the evening of the day of the accidents, troopers were still investigating the case and had not arrested anybody.

According to a police spokesperson, the driver of the Dodge Charger was traveling west on Ives Dairy Road in Miami when he collided with another car near Interstate 95. He allegedly fled from the accident scene and was followed by the victim of the crash. The fleeing driver continued west on the same road and allegedly caused another accident moments later. This time, he was found to have hit and killed a cyclist. He drove off again after the second collision.

Innocent victims of an auto accident or their loved ones can file civil claims against the negligent parties to obtain the compensation they deserve. A driver accused of hit and run may be convicted on criminal charges as well, and this can strengthen a victim's personal injury or wrongful death claim against the at-fault motorist.
