Florida troopers are still investigating the fatal car accident that took the lives of four teenagers. The accident occurred on Sunday this past weekend when an SUV driven by one of the teens spun out of control and hit a wall on the side of the road.
The driver of the vehicle and his friend had been celebrating the driver’s birthday earlier that day. The two had just picked up his sister and her friend. The four were on the road when the driver lost control of the SUV. Florida Highway Patrol is still trying to determine what happened.
A fatal car accident is devastating for all involved, especially the families of the victims. One family lost two children in one night, and two other families are mourning the loss of their children as well.
The details of the crash are limited; it is unclear whether the teens were killed upon impact or suffered fatal injuries from the collision. But the article does note that another crash occurred when a state trooper rushed to the scene of the crash.
The trooper was driving to the accident scene when a tire failed and her patrol car flipped over. She sustained serious injuries and was brought to a nearby hospital by helicopter. She is currently recovering.
Hopefully the investigation will help to answer some of the questions that the victims’ families may have. Unfortunately, getting the answers to their questions will not change the fact that their loved ones were killed. In response to the tragedy, the schools that the teenagers attended are providing grief counselors to help students deal with the fatal accident.
