If you’ve been injured in a car crash, then you are probably aware of how even slow accidents can result in serious injuries that affect you in the long term. Your car accident injuries should be treated and covered by the person at fault, like it may be in this case. If you live in Florida, you might remember this accident that took place in April. According to the story one man has told, his life was saved by a pew in his local church when a car crashed through the wall. That accident caused multiple injuries to churchgoers.
According to the news, the 37-year-old man was visiting the Second Haitian Baptist Church in Fort Myers, Florida, when a car went through the wall and into the sanctuary. That impact caused congregation members and pews to be thrown around the room, causing injuries and damage.
The man being interviewed believed that it was God and the pew’s strong wooden structure that saved his and his family’s lives. He was reportedly under the vehicle by the time the crashing had ceased. He fortunately was able to escape with only minor injuries. Others were not as fortunate in this case. Six people had to be hospitalized following the incident, although they are expected to survive their injuries.
The accident was caused by a woman, age 31, who was in her Lexus with a 6-year-old boy. The police reported that the child was fine. The pastor of the church reported that when he spoke to the woman the following day, she was upset and crying about the accident. Now, he and the church committee are working together to figure out how to repair the church, when those repairs can take place and when the church will be safe to reopen to the public.
