
David Alejandro Calles Smith
David Calles Smith obtained his J.D. from University of Miami School of Law in 2018. While at University of Miami, David was a member of the Society of Bar and Gavel. David additionally participated in the Federal Appellate Clinic, Immigration Clinic, and Litigation Skills Program. During his year with the Immigration Clinic, David earned the Dean's Certificate of Achievement Award.
Ecuadorian-born, David has both extensive personal and professional experience with the US immigration system from processing Diplomatic and Student visas to Immigration Court removal defense and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals. Prior to joining the firm, David interned with Americans for Immigration Justice in their Family Defense Program, and with Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. in their Defending Vulnerable Populations Project and Board of Immigration Appeals Pro-bono Project. David joined the firm in 2018 as a law clerk and continued as an associate attorney after being admitted to practice in the District of Columbia in 2018.Areas of Practice
