Legislation introduced to protect H-1B spouses

There are many foreign workers in the Miami area on an H-1B visa. This visa allows for people from other countries to work in the United States. An H-1B visa is an important visa for many companies in the United States, especially for employing technical workers. Legislation recently introduced in Congress is aimed to help spouses of H-1B visa holders.

The spouses of H-1B visa holders are usually granted an H-4 visa. This visa allows the spouses to live and work in the U.S. as well. But the Trump administration has said that it would like to eliminate the H-4 visa by the end of the year.

As such, a bill introduced in Congress this past week prohibits the Trump administration from revoking the H-4 visa. The lawmakers believe it is important for spouses to have the ability to work as well so that they make enough money to stay in the U.S.

If spouses are not allowed to work, families may be separated, or they may not come to the U.S. at all, which can result in these skilled workers staying in their country and being competition to the U.S. businesses. Lawmakers believe there is no benefit in taking away a spouse's working visa and believe the spouses can be good contributors to the U.S. economy.

American companies and universities rely on skilled foreign workers. These workers are important for companies to grow their business and compete worldwide. Employers and employees who have questions regarding H-1B, and H-4 visas may want to speak with a legal professional who is skilled in immigration.

Work visas are important for American businesses. Many businesses rely on skilled foreign workers to help their company grow and prosper. Making sure these visas are attainable for workers and their families is important. And, an immigration attorney understands the importance of these visas for both the employer and the employee and works hard to make sure both of their employment needs are met. The attorney also knows how quickly the law can change regarding these visas and can make sure their client is protected.
