3 killed in a 2-car accident in Florida

Car accidents that result in injuries and deaths can be painful physically, financially and emotionally. In cases of a wrongful death, due to a car accident, you may want to seek compensation for the loss of your loved one, just as you could in a case of injuries caused by a negligent party. For instance, this report about three people injured and three people killed in a Miami-Dade accident could be similar to your case, so you may want to read on and consider your options.

According to a report from Jan. 20, a deadly head-on accident that took place in southwest Miami-Dade is still being investigated. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 1:45 a.m. near Southwest 144th Street and Krome Avenue. The impact was allegedly so violent that the two cars burst into flames.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the 19-year-old driving a southbound vehicle in a northbound lane might have been responsible for the accident. His vehicle held three others inside, a 15-year-old, 16-year-old and 24-year-old. According to the reports, the other vehicle had two people inside, and they were both killed by the impact. Because of the intensity of the accident, their dental records had to be used to identify the bodies. In the allegedly at-fault party's car, the 15-year-old girl died from her injuries upon arrival at a local hospital. All others involved in the accident were taken to the hospital for serious injuries.

In accidents like this one, you may lose a loved one in a tragic and horrific way. Civil action may be taken against the at-fault party in order to seek compensation for funeral costs, medical expenses, loss of companionship, emotional distress and other damages.
